Pav Bhaji

Pavbhaji-isaltpepper


Call it a snack or a full meal, PavBhaji is everyone's favorite. Made with easily available vegetables, anywhere in the world. 

Ingredients:

  1. Cauliflower: 250 gm
  2. Onions:  4
  3. Tomato: 1
  4. Potatoes:  3 or 4
  5. Red capsicum:  1
  6. Green peas: 100 gm
  7. Ginger:  1inch
  8. Garlic cloves: 3 or 4
  9. Coriander- 1 small bunch
  10. Kasuri Methi : 1 teaspoon 
  11. Everest Pavbhaji masala: 3 tablespoons
  12. Chili powder: 2 or 3 teaspoons
  13. Asafoetida - 1/2 teaspoon
  14. Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
  15. Salt: As per taste
  16. Oil - 3tablespoons
  17. Butter: 2 tablespoons and to toast bread
  18. Bread buns: 10
  19. Lemon: 1 teaspoon lemon juice and some slices.

Procedure:

  1. Boil potatoes.
  2. Cook cauliflower, capsicum and peas together.
  3. Cut onions.
  4. Wash and cut coriander.
  5. Make tomato, ginger and garlic paste together.
  6. Mash cooked potatoes.
  7. Blend cooked vegetables (You can use a blender)
  8. In the cooking-pan add oil and 1 tablespoon of butter.
  9. Once hot add asafoetida and turmeric powder.
  10. Add 3 cut onions and stir. Keep 1 cut onion aside for garnishing.
  11. Once onions are fried till translucent, add tomato-ginger-garlic paste, and fry for 3 to 4 minutes.
  12. Add pav bhaji masala, chili powder and salt. Mix and fry well.
  13. Add mashed potatoes, and mix well. 
  14. Add blended vegetables and mix well.
  15. Add 1 tablespoon of butter, kasuri methi and one teaspoon lemon juice.
  16. Mix, cover and cook for 10 mins. Keep stirring intermittently.
  17. Toast bread buns using butter.
  18. Pavbhaji is ready.
  19. While serving garnish with onions, coriander, and a slice of lemon.
